Bottle from the Coop in Davis, CA. Bottled 9/21/08. Beautiful copper color with a multi-finger frothy beige head. Aroma of pumpkin pie heavy on nutmeg. A bit thinnish with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is pumpkin pie with some herb or veg. It’s not a month old, and at least one week was refrigerated, but I think I detect a slight sour note. More of a flavored ale than a spice ale - whatever I meant by that. Finish is rather astringent. Think I like my pumpkin thicker and spicier. Maybe it would have gone better with food.

12 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Hazy muddled orange with a 2-finger head. Poor retention and lacing. Not much pumpkin in the aroma but the spice mix is not overbearing either. Some nutmeg and a little bit of cinnamon. Taste is subtle pumpkin in the finish, preceded by green apple and a spicy spice mix. Lots of cinnamon. Medium bodied.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a large orange-tan head. The aroma was sweet, spicy and had notes of orange, nutmeg and cinnamon. Wonderful nose! The flavor was sweet spicy cinnamon and nutmeg with a hint of orange and a long tangy and spicy and dry finish. Full bodied. Very nice.

Bottle. Pour is a deep coppery orange with a finger of bubble tan head. Aromas are very heavy on the pie spices with a touch of sweetness that might be described as pumpkin. Still, the spice in the nose is abit overdone. Flavor is very odd and Iβm wondering if I have an infected bottle. There is a sour funk to it that is completely unexpected, but since itβs new, I canβt see it being an aging/storage issue. As it warms a bit, this becomes diminished. The spice is strong and dominates past the tartness... cloves and cinnamon dominate and drive this one home... Still, this is weird stuff.

2008 bottle. Sent a picture to be uploaded. Solid pumpkin beer. Pours with a fluffy, tight, off-white head that stays the entire time and leaves good lacing. Body is a chill hazed orange hue. Aroma is beautiful with pumpkin and so many amazing spices... cinnamon, brown sugar, clove...pumpkin pie, really good pumpkin pie. Taste is strongly of the spices and not as sweet as I was hoping. Still good for when the weather cools. Dryish mouthfeel and lively bubbles.
