Sampled on draft at the Pratt St Ale House this beer poured a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy off white head that left great lacing. The aroma was tobacco and dark fruits. The flavor was toasty with caramel and dark fruits. Long finish. Moderately full body. Alcohol well contained. Solid.

Pretty decent; for a brown but not a huge amount of complexity. Pours maroon with OK bubbly head and lacing on cask. Some booze and some hops. Light roast. Cask at smoke and barrel.

I liked this one at first - up front, there is a nice crispness to the malt profile, and a bright fruitiness from the hops - then, through the middle, it starts to get a bit sweet, with notes of fruit, toffee, treacle - not bad, but getting a little less enjoyable - then, the alcohol comes on very strong, especially in the finish, leaving a lightly medicinal notes - starts strong, but disappoints in the end.
