A Russian Imperial Stout is simply a stout with extra everything! Despite what the name suggests the beer was first brewed in 19th century England for export to the Russian court.
Our interpretation of this style is a brooding beer with a thick body and generous tones of liquorice, coffee and chocolate. A robust and complex beer best enjoyed in moderate amounts.

Draught @ Himmeriget. Pours almost black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of roastdd malt, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate. Flavor is sweet and light bitter, roast malty, caramel, coffee, wood, chocolate, dark fruit, light alcohol. Medium to full body, soft to average carbonation, sweet finish with warming alcohol. 080918

Bottle. Pours black with a big brown head. Aroma has got notes of fudge, cream and milk chocolate. Taste is sweet and roasted with notes of fudge, coffee and dry dark chocolate. Medium bitterness. Well balanced!

Aroma røsted malt, sjokolade, plomme, vanilje. Utseende mørk mørk brun, nesten sort med ett tynnt lag brunt skum. Smak sjokolade, røsted malt, vanilje, nøtter, kaffe, alkohol, lakris. Smaksrik, saftig, god fylde, noe alkoholsmak, lakris i ettersmaken. Flaske kjøpt på Systembolaget Storheden Luleå, 33cl 9,5% BF100719

Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, prunes, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and prunes, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - batch 311 - BB 06.03.2020, from Alko, 20180602) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, coffee and lightly sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, coffee, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, metallic and bitter. A bit unbalanced brew. Nice dry finish though.

30/3/2018. Bottle in trade with Nisse666, cheers for this one! Pours close to black with a beige head. Aroma of dark fruits, liquorice, chocolate, lactose, coffee and hint of berries. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Full bodied, slick texture, average to soft carbonation. Very good.

A black beer, a head is small and beige. Aroma has liquorice, sweetness of malts, some fresh salt and fruitness, maybe hint of chocolate. Taste has liquorice, strong fruitness, mild roastiness. Drying bitterness in the end, but residual sugars have still left, quite nice balance, anyway. Almost full bodied, smooth. Quite different than typical IS, strong fruitness and less roastiness. Tasteful beer.
