This "wee heavy" style of Scotch Ale ain't your red cup, party slamming, "WOOO!" style of beer. A "sip and savor", high octane beer, it is deceptive in it's smooth drinkability. A big malty taste swirling with notes of caramel and toffee, and a subtle peat taste allows you the chance to sit back, exhale, and fully enjoy this cool weather ale.

500 ml bottle purchased at One Stop Market Haverhill, MA. No bottle date or ABV marked on the bottle. Cloudy orange color with any head in a snifter. Aroma shows caramelized malts, raisin, butter scotch and... Damn it cardboard notes. Flavor is the appropriate amount of sugar malts, warming boozy alcohol after the sip. It not the brew failure that it has oxidation but that way with a huge ABV beer the bottles should be marked. I graded this on a small curve.

Bottle on Christmas Eve after family went to bed. Pours muddy orange with sweet butterscotch nose. Tastes of lots of toffee, some molasses, dried fruits, bubblegum, and quite a bit of booze. Touch too sweet palate. Not getting any scotch ale type of character but pleasant enough

Bottle at my buddys ba tasting. Caramel with just a hint of orange citrus. Pretty boozy. Not sure why this is a scotch ale. Whatever, drinkable and enjoyable but nothing super special.

Bottle( thanks to Rian!): Cloudy, amber coloured, small persistent off-white head, sweet caramelly-vinous nose, vanilla and wood undereneath; sweet flavour, full bodied; alcohol-burn and wood in the the sweet fruity and caramelly finish. Srong and sweet, but still likeable…

Bottle from the brewery and shared at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention. Toffee aroma with a good bit of smoke. The taste is toffee, caramel, smoke, bitter hops. Medium bodied, boozy. Very nice.

Bottle thanks to Cletus. Pours dark reddish brown with tan head. Nose/taste of caramel, ripe dark fruit, toffee, vanilla and tons of alcohol. Crunchy nuts soaked in alcohol mouth feel. Medium body.

Sampled from the tap at NotB. Poured a clear gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had some light fruits, bread, caramel and cereal with a bit of pine coming out as well. Flavor began with sweet bread and grains with a bit of earthiness and a bit of bitterness coming out in the finish.
