This is a collaboration with Alpine Beer Company. Amarillo, Columbus, Simcoe and Centennial hops bring bitterness to the forefront, balanced with Pale, C-80 and Carapils malts. The tropical and citrus tones of the American hops dominate the flavor of the copper-colored beer.

Bomber from Bier 30 in Boise. Pours a very clear copper color with a large thick white head. A great bursting nose of fruity hops and resin is coming through. A great flavor: pure Cali goodness here, sweet resiny hops with massive fruit, insane drinkability, Simcoe, sweet candy, caramel. Awesome! I guess this isn’t everyone’s cuppa but man this is good. Leaves your lips lingering with bitterness and sweet as hell hops. Homerun.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of herbal and spicy hops with some resin and faint pale malts. The taste is intensly hoppy... as I was hoping... with spicy, peppery, herbal, citrus and resin notes. Some caramel malts also. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness, very low heat. Nice beer.

On tap at Flying Saucer 12th Anniversary. Pours a cloudy orange gold with large frothy white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is strong floral hops and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruit hop and honey with light bitter finish. Alcohol present But not overpowering a good IIIPA from New Belgium.

Medium gold with a light haze - soapy lace - pine and cedar hit the notes first, followed by sweet tropical notes and citrus zest - texture is a little oily - medium-low, soft carbonation - flavor is pretty straightforward - zesty, peppery hops - strong bitterness that is held in check fairly well by the sweeter notes of peach and tropical fruit - piney hop character late - alcohol is masked well, aside from a bit of warmth in the finish, and it mostly just accentuates the spicy hops in the finish - it’s nothing terribly complex, but it has nice hop aromatics and is balanced and enjoyable for the style.

Tap. Pours hazy golden amber with a large off-white creamy head that dissipates slowly with good lacing. Aroma is strong grapefruit, pine resin. Flavor is grapefruit, spruce and pine, mild caramel malt, some undefined spice and herb flavors. Medium bitter finish. Rich and full bodied. Very good beer.

Pint on tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is super pungent, with floral hops, hemp, orange rinds and resinous hops - barely enough caramel malt to back. Flavour is insanely intense, with relentless hoppiness, loads of floral notes and truckloads of hempy / pot-like hops reveal themselves as you get into this; secondary notes of citrus peel / citrus rind; and barely enough malt to hold this together without diminishing the hop presence. Very intense and delicious, though almost *too* over the top!

Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with an off-white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a good amount of of dank pine with grapefrut and not much of a grain backbone. Flavor begins with grapefruit and bitter citrus that is joined by pine and onion.

Bottle @ home. Hazy dark appearance with a cream colored head. One whiff and you realize this is a motherfucking Alpine beer. OMGZ. Super fucking rich, grapefruit, big resiny, marijuana, thick resiny, spicy hoppy, perfect aroma. 10 all you motherfuckers. Perfecto. Somewhat chewy, a bit toasty malty, a touch yeasty, big grapefruity, marijuana, resiny/piney hoppy flavor. One whiff or one taste and you know this is an Alpine beer and it’s just beautiful. Not sure what the New Belgium contribution is but this just smells and tastes like an amazing, aromatic, beautiful Alpine Double IPA. Best collaboration thus far by New Belgium. Delicious tasty stuff. Thank you, Alpine for making your deliciousness local to Colorado.
