Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours hazy pale golden with medium white head. Some thin big bubble lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and citrus aroma. Taste is citrus, some coriander, and a hint of grainy wheat.

Coriander and rubber funk nose. Cloudy golden, thick head. Light malt with a mild lemony tang. Mouthfeel is thin and bodyless. Baby food on the back end. Not the best wit I’ve ever had, but I love the wheat beers.

In Ordnung. 7/8/8/7/7/7

Bottle. Orange juice, coriander and clove aroma. Cloudy pale yellow with large white head. Slightly sweet orange juice, sour milk, and light spices (clove, coriander) flavor. Okay but not great.

12oz bottle pours murky deep gold with 30 second white head. The mild aroma emits grains, yeasty spice, wheat and a touch of fruity esters. The taste is fairly soft with light notes of wheat, spicy yeast and growing graininess. Toward the finish it picks up a sense of fruity esters as well as it quickly fades away.

Well I was pleasantly surprised here! This is one of the better witbiers I’ve tried in quite awhile. Nose is refreshing, doughy, minty, spicy (only a little clove), citrusy. Flavor is orange peel and wheat, clean (no phenols). Light finish, not bitter, semi-dry. Cool! Hazy yellow, not much head, large bubbles.

Location: Draft at Amity Hall, 8/28/10
Aroma: The nose is a bit of wheat, some lemon, orange, and spice
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden-amber color with a white head
Flavor: The taste has a boring spice, citrus, and wheat flavor to it
Palate: It has a fairly light body, thin, watery, and a bit on the sticky side
Overall Impression: A new pretty boring wheat beer offering from Abita. It is basically what I should have been expecting, but I was expecting better anyway...

I dont think this one deserves such a bad rating, and definitely not to be lumped in with the blue moon crowd. true, it doesnt have the characteristics that make other white’s more distinctive, the "citrus" flavor seems a little too fabricated, and its a little too weak in other flavors to garner a high rating, but its not a bad beer. I could easily have this as a session beer on a hot day in the summer...not that im going to...but i could.
