Sample at Industry Night at HomeBrewCon. Orange amber color white head. Huge citrus and tropical fruitiness. Pretty tasty beer, but oddly the server wouldn’t allow me to try this beer until I tried his saison first.

Impressive and unexpected IPA. Orange whip is exactly what’s going on here with some zesty tangerine, a little booze and some light pine. Pours deep orange with OK head and lacing. Very bitter finish. Tap at Right Proper.

Draft at Mad Fox poured into a nonic pint glass, freshly tapped just 3 hours prior for their First Saturday Brewery Open House. Pours a nice dark amber/orange color with little off-white head. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, citrus peel and rind. Tasting notes of big grapefruit and orange citrus, pine, caramel, floral notes, big hops. Medium body with a dry finish, semi-juicy mouthfeel. Possibly my favorite of Mad Fox’s IPAs.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 6/10/11
Aroma: The nose more fruity then taste, some citrus and tropical fruits
Appearance: It pours a dark reddish color with a decent sized off-white head
Flavor: The taste is rather hoppy, not a ton of balance, but some light maltiness
Palate: This one has a medium (plus) body with a finish that is rather dry
Overall Impression: There is not a ton of balance to this one, but it was a rather solid IPA. This was some solid stuff. I enjoyed this one, a good offering from Mad Fox.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a large offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of strong citrus hops, caramel and toasted malts. The taste is big citrus hops including orange, pineapple, grapefruit and candied citrus, as well as caramel malts. Medium bodied. Strong lingering bitterness.
