Savor one of our favorite sips of summer with THE GREAT NORTHERN, a beer brewed with long lake days and sunny trails in mind. This unique style of IPA blends the tropical fruit-forward notes of our beloved New England IPAs with a smooth, clean finish imparted by a cooler fermentation. The result? A refreshing, hoppy beverage that will have you reaching for more.

Brewery draught, 8/4/26.
Yellow fruits, easygoing citrus and just a touch of pine give the impression this might be amply-bittered. Malts are soft, sweet, showing a mix of honey-white bread that easily balances. Clean with a hint of earthiness.
Soft and round, rather simple malt profile gives an unvaried honey-white bread character. It's not too sweet, but the extremely low bitterness makes it come off close to being too sweet. Hop notes are interesting/well-done. Yellow fruit, zesty citrus, hints of pine. But there's never more than a tingle of bitterness up front before being fully lost to malt.

On tap at Aeronaut, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has juicy stone fruits, pine needles, muddled earthiness, and light chalk. Flavour is much the same, with light chalk, pine needles, murky earthiness, and light juiciness. Muddled and incoherent. Okay.
