Shaker pint draft at the Brewery and Deli in Madison, Wisconsin. Pour is a lightly hazed golden orange with a smallish off white head that leaves pretty lacing. Aroma is soft belgian yeast and bright fresh orange citrus hops. Taste is very much the nose, with great integration and balance between the nuance of the Belgian yeast and the crisp fresh lemon and orange of the citrus. Palate is light to med bodied, unfiltered mouth feel. Nice one, this was my beer of the weekend.

12oz Bottle Pours out a hazt gold/amber topped with a sand head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruit, sweet malts, and some yeast. Taste is lead by the citrus hops followwed up with a nice belg yeast. A tast IPA.

Draft at Old Fashioned. Filtered looking orange-tan color. Steady, soapy white head. Pleasant mild hop aroma. The bottle has an even more intense aroma. Very well done, this might be my new favorite beer from Ale Asylum. Captures most of the complexities of a true Belgian IPA, without the effervescent Belgian carbonation. Citra hops work quite well. The hops are bright and citrusy, not sticky or thick. An awesome beer, well done.

Picked this up on a recent trip to Wisconsin prior to the Great Lakes Brew Fest. Poured from 12 oz bottle. Unfortunately, the aroma is like my shorts after a 15 mile run. Seriously, it smells like a high school football team’s locker room after a game. Some crazy skunky hops in there mixed with the Belgian yeast makes it smell rank, but not entirely in a horrible way, just uncomfortable. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a very present head. Taste is actually fantastic, extremely smooth and crisp, very easy to drink, great hop flavors but I’m not really noticing the yeast very much. Upon first whiff, I thought this would be memorably bad, but it’s actually memorably great. Probably the best conflicting beer I’ve had.

Courtesy of markwise. Pours clear copper with gold edges and tan head. The aroma is earthy, herbally, floral and malty sweet and maybe a touch of grapefruit in there too. The taste has more grapefruit than the nose with some sweet crystal malts and a thin ring of earthy herbally floral hops. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a clear orange amber with a gray head that dissipated slowly. Aroma had a distinct onion note with sweet grain and pine. Flavor had that same distinct onion note with more pine and less of the sweet grain note. Seeing as I really dislike any onion flavor, it was a major hindrance on my enjoyment of this beer.
