Tap. The Crow, Sheffield. Light haze on a light copper colour. Slim ring of dense white foam. Nose has robust grape juice skin and stalk. In fact it’s quite woody but not in an oaky barrel way, if that makes sense (it doesn’t). Anyway. Yeah very fruit forward. Fairly tannic. Nicely leathery funk errs toward the sweaty and damp. Bit of vanilla. Lots happening here. Taste is juicy and sweet first off with a nice dry and tart twang. Hint of woody bitterness I’m thinking from the grape stalk and skins. Very clean and quenching with fine fizz. Dry tannic finish with a bittersweet fruit character. Nice beer with plenty going on, not least a shed load of juicy grape.
