In Kansas, like other states in the Great Plains, the words “amber waves of grain” come alive. And as people who are no strangers to farms and farming ourselves, we thought it valuable to craft a beer that is made from the grain that Kansas is known for, and positively perfect for quenching your thirst at the end of a long, hard day of work – or play.

12oz bottle as Golden..no mention of wheat. Medium bodied, straightforward, well made. Clean simple ingredients. Not a lot going on, but a pleasant enough session beer.

Bottle: Clear medium gold with a small white head. Citrus aroma....apple-lemon-honey. Sweet flavour, lemon-aplle, straw, softly malted. Very good....a nice, light Kolsch.

Bottle. Orange-apple malt and straw aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet lightly tangy lemon-apple, malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Medium body. Nice.

10 oz pour at the brewpub. Pour is clear golden orange with a nice 1 inch off white head. Aroma of not too much, it was served pretty cold. Perhaps some mineral, maybe a hint of the wheat. Taste is toasted malt graininess, mixed in with a nice floral grassiness. Taste is smooth and well integrated. There is a bit of a dirty after taste, though this was a nicely drinkable beer. I had never tried this one in the past, but it was nicely clean and drinkable.

Pint @ brewpub. Yeah, this was really nothing special. I mean it wasn’t "bad" just completely dull and uninteresting. Maybe meant for the non-geek crowd. Clear muted-golden color. Lightly sticky lacing. Aroma is mineral, earthy, and grainy. Not real wheat or esters coming through. Taste is basically like sweet paper. Eh.

Goldish color, very much a straightforward blond or American wheat - true kolsch character is not coming through. Has a notable hop finish, however.
