Reviewed from notes. Consumed June 9th, 2013.
The appearance is a golden/somewhat amber colored body with a moderate amount of carbonation that is seen rising, one finger white foamy head, light lacing surrounding the glass. The aroma has a strong malty presence up front with some hops trying to make a strong secondary take, but mainly stay subdued. The taste is sweet through the malts, sweet sticky aftertaste and finish. On the palate, its about a light to medium, somewhat sessionable, carbonation seems to be right on for the style and for me. Overall, is this really an EIPA, really? uh... ok, well, I thought it was more of an EPA, not bad, not spectacular, but hey, Iβd probably have again.

20oz tap..probably closer to 16oz poured. Unfiltered orange-tan, big steady beige head. Classic English hop aroma. Rather watery in body, thin and lacking depth. Toasty, mellow citrus hop balance. Tastes like the mall IPA it is, pretty unimpressive.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. As "Duke Of Wellington Pale Ale". Clear amber color with a lovely big off-white head. Aroma of hops, maybe slightly stale, with citric, earthy and piney notes, and some malt, a bit caramelly and grainy. Later whiffs are more malty with light buttery notes. Sweetish malt flavor, grainy and caramelly, with light fruitiness and a moderately bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied. Pretty decent.

Pour is a cloudy bronze with a large white head. Aroma is slight hops if you use your imagination, also some caramel malt. Flavor is almost nothing. Iβve had a few pale lagers that I can say taste like water but itβs rare I have a ale with nothing going on. Maybe a dirty malt and thatβs about it.

Draft at GC Rockford. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a small head. Aroma of pine hops and caramel. Taste is light bitter. Citrus hops. Medium bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and an average finish. Overall, itβs ok. Batch 1000 is much better.
