Sample at Kurtkeller 005: Coffee-tastic 01 on 02/08/2014. This beer is a dark reddish-brown color with a medium creamy beige head that diminishes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee, caramel and malt. Medium body with flavors of chocolate malt, espresso and a touch of resiny hops. The finish is roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Half Time, 11/25/12
Aroma: The nose has a little coffee, a little roast, some burnt notes, earth, and hints of dark chocolate
Appearance: A dark brown beer with a huge, foamy brown head that fills the glass and leaves lots of lace
Flavor: It is not overly sweet, more roasted malts, leaning burnt, with a medium bitter/chocolate finish
Palate: The body of this one is medium, it feels a little creamy, with average carbonation, and a dryish finish
Overall Impression: Prior to purchasing this beer I had never heard of Three Heads, but if there is any place to learn about a small NY brewery, it has got to be Half Time. Anyway, as far as this beer goes, it is pretty solid, but nothing more. The nose is fine, the pour is fine (though maybe it has a little too much head), the taste is fine (though a touch better then the nose), and the feel is fine. Overall, "fine" really feels like the right word to describe this one.

Tap at the Ginger Man, Manhattan - 29/05/12. Dark brown approaching black with a moderate tan head. Big cofffee nose allied to a little sweetish malt and a touch of fruit. Blast of fresh coffee in the taste Light to medium in body, moderate carbonation, smooth finish. A very well done coffee porter, did what it said on the tin and didn’t dissappoint!

Draught. Nice black with tan lace. Coffee aroma, some roasty malts. Nice flaovr, somewhat like a dry stout, coffee, a bit of dark chocolate, not very sweet at all. Light body, very drinkable.

22oz bottle pours a hazy, deep brown with one ring of white head. Nose of coffee, toasted bread, brown sugar, caramel. Flavors are the same. Watery finish.

Bomber shared by argo0. Thanks! Pours a clear dark orange-brown color. Thin tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of sweet rich and roasted coffee, roasted malts. Similar taste with some hop bitterness. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Nice.
