Faro Boon is a beer of spontaneous fermentation for which “meertsbier” and old Lambic are blended together. The light brown colour and sour-sweet taste are attained by adding candy sugar before bottling.

Bottle at De Blauwe Kater, Leuven. Sweet aroma. Caramel colour like a bitter. Taste is a mix of somewhat funky sour and candy syrup sweet (unsuprising as this is what they added). Not sure about this...almost could have been better without sweetner.

250ml bottle, online from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber golden with a white head. Aroma: toffee-caramel sweetness. Taste: moderate to heavy sweet, grainy, vague caramel notes with maybe a smidge of tangy funk. Light to medium in body with moderate to high carbonation. What's the point of this style? Sugary sweet shite

250ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Pours dark orange with a small white head. No carbonation. Aroma is baked apples, caramel, barnyard funkiness, bretts. Taste is heavy sweet, syrupy, cooked apples, graininess, plus a sour note. Too strange for me.

25 cl bottle poured in to a Flute. 5 % abv. Cloudy amber golden colour with a creamy off white head. Tart fruity aroma with candid sugar, barnyard and lemons. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Tart fruity finish with candid sugar. Straightforward Faro Lambiek to the sweeter side. Nice.

Cloudy amber, decent off-white head. Aroma: green apple, fruit acids, caramel, barnyard. Similar taste. Light to medium sour, equally sweet. Pleasant.
