Faro Boon is a beer of spontaneous fermentation for which “meertsbier” and old Lambic are blended together. The light brown colour and sour-sweet taste are attained by adding candy sugar before bottling.

Dark brown color. Yoghurt, a hint of cherry juice and caramel in the aroma. Very sweet, sugary flavor with buttermilk and caramel. Sticky mouthfeel. More butter than brett.

Nice lambic, but quite sweet, not fruity though, just sugary. But the sourness is on point and still a good beer. hop cult dresden

Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Funky vinous vinegar aroma. Slightly hazy dark amber. White head is initially frothy but soon fades. Sugary and very sweet, with underlying sourness. Fruit syrup into the finish. Light bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. It's fine but far too sugary to want to drink much.

250 ml bottle, bb 12.04.2020.
Amber, clear body, with a medium, fluffy, beige head.
Aroma of moderate funk, wood, candy sugar, sweet apples, some citrus.
Tastes similar, but even sweeter, very sugary.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes sweet, wooden, a bit funky, with lots of sugar, sweet apples.
OK. Typical Faro, much too sweet, with the sugar much too dominant. Some nice funk and apple notes in the background. Lambic lemonade.

250 ml bottle. Pours with a clear, golden color and a tiny off-white head. Nose is nonspecific sweet with a touch of apple. Taste is very sweet: brown sugar, applejuice, but also some malty flavors. Quit dry and slightly bitter finish.
