Faro Boon is a beer of spontaneous fermentation for which “meertsbier” and old Lambic are blended together. The light brown colour and sour-sweet taste are attained by adding candy sugar before bottling.

Bottle fortunately shared at OltremaltO, Ancona. Pours amber brown with a small lasting off-white to beige head and good lacing. Aroma of syrup, malt, overripe fruit, brown sugar and toffee. Heavy sweetness, minimal bitterness and sour. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation.

BOTTLE 25 CL shared. BB APR2016. Clear dark copper/brandy, sediment, small off-white head. Glazed baked apples, touch of cooked corn, light barrel brandy like notes. The taste is slightly cidery, macerated apples, nice sweetness, not sugary at all. The finish has a mild cidery winy astringency. Nice.

Tap. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is stinky cheese, some candy sugar, surprisingly much Lambic character in here. Taste is candy sugar, funk. Slight carbonation. Quite nice for a Faro.
