On tap at Crooked Fence Barrelhouse, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out biscuity malt and aggressive floral hops. Flavour brings out lots of floral hops, a touch of pine and biscuity malt. Reasonably well-balanced, with a dry piney finish. Solid.

12oz can. A pretty straight up APA, fresh and drinkable enough. Slightly hazy amber tan brown body. Foamy off white head. Respectably hopped, in a sort of classical way...in other words no new school tropical tones or any of that. Solid offering overall, teeting into IPA territory.

Aroma of citrus/oranges at the pop of the flip top (can). Pours amber with thin head and sticky lacing. Taste is hops, malt, citrus, dry palate, lingering finish. Highly drinkable and enjoyable.

On tap at the Boise brewhouse. The same hazy orange/amber as its big brother, "Devil’s Pick" Small corase light tan head that had to be coaxed a bit from the tap. (cheaters!). Faint malty aroma lacking any big fresh hop notes. Some wet brown paper bag and grassiness. Flavor is mildy hop flavored and a balanced malt backbone. Nothing off-putting but basic and steady. I’d like to see something a little more risky in a small brewhouse that is doing well otherwise in its market, but a pale ale is a pale ale mostly. And this is one.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID. Pours hazy orange with a medium beige lacy head. Aroma consists of dough, floral notes, cat piss, overly malty. Taste is also overly malty, with caramel being the dominant flavor; seems a little old, even though this brewery is fairly new to my area; it’s sweet and ends on a lightly bitter note. Unimpressed.

On tap at Bier 30. Pours a dark copper color with a large white head. A sweet nose of caramel and green hops. The flavor is odd, but I like it: caramel, dusty, bitter raw hops, very strong. Interesting.

Bottle: Light copper pour with a finger of sandy head. Florals and caramel in the nose, mostly sweet/caramel malty taste. A soft, malty pale ale. I found myself craving some hops midway through and after this was gone...
