Hendre Huffcap is a stalwart perry; one of the most important varieties because of its fantastic vigour and longevity. Our trees were planted in 1987 and we would bet on them still being here in 2087! This particular vintage of Hendre Huffcap seemed to capture something unusual: tannins.
Whilst Hendre Huffcap always carries a juicy, zesty lime character, this bottling also showcases superb bitterness which deepens and balances the flavour.

750ml bottle from Ross on Wye, for #rgpm. Sparkling, pale yellow gold colour, white foamy head and aroma of perry pear, citric, floral, funk hint. Taste is fruity, perry peary, elderflowery, woody, lime citric, alittle funk, with some acidity and drying earthy tannin. Light to medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry fruity tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
