22oz bottle. This was the second one and worked threw all 12 at the same time. A fun line up do do all at once. Pours out a orangeish amber topped with a small head. Nose is floral hop notes some earth tones and a little malt sweetness. Taste is more of the earthy and floral notes aswell as some of the heather.

heather ale on tapat the bocktown monaca, nice place! Looks like pale lager with a pond scum head. Initially has a quite strong warming effect going down the throat. Almost flat. A little astringent in the persentation. Finish is medium medicinal alky linger. Can not really detect any spices in there which means it well designed.

Blind Tiger, NYC tap ($7.50): Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is earth, tea, malts, and sugar. Taste is somewhat sweet. Tastes similar to the Scottish heather ales. The heather gives it a nice earthy kick that balances well with the malty sweetness. ’Twas nice.

Location: 22 oz bottle from State Line, 8/7/12
Aroma: The aroma has some floral hops, spice, a little caramel, and sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a cloudy dark orange color with a small white head and light lace
Flavor: The taste is mid sweet and rather malty with some spice, but the floral hops are in the lead here
Palate: The body is medium, it has a nice feel, with some light stickiness, and a smooth , slightly dry finish
Overall Impression: For some reason, I have taken the first 3 beers in reverse order here, but this is my second rating from the Beers of Apocalypse series, after #3. I felt like this one had some rather enjoyable parts to it. Honestly, my feeling here is that this was a good beer that just slightly missed somewhere.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear orange amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of sweet grain with a good amount of backing heather, hay and a hint of resin. Flavor again has sweet grains with a strong note of heather and earthy grass.

Draft at Paradiso Dupont, courtesy of Patrick, thanks! Hazy yellow gold color, large fluffy white head. Aroma of belly button lint and moderate spice. Taste us very bitter root vegetables, heather and canvas tents. Don’t ask me how I know that last ine. Odd.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear amber with not much head. Aroma of heather and candied fruits - not overly inviting. Flavour of heather, candied sugar, floral hops and some leafy hops. Not very attractive, but drinkable.
