This rich, full-bodied Stout has sweetness from caramel malt, bitterness from roasted barley and smoothness from flaked oats. Available on draft and in bottles.

Nearly black with a foamy light brown head. Aroma of roast chocolate malt. Creamy, with a very nice bittering between the coffee notes and the hops. Simple, straightforward and solid.... Good beer.

Bottle. Chocolate and light coffee malt aroma. Dark brown with a moderate tan head. Sweet chocolate and roasty malt, subtle roasty bitter finish. Medium body, light carbonation. The whole thing is a little too sweet for my taste.

Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 11/6/12
Aroma: The nose has some roast, sweet malts, toffee, caramel, oatmeal, and hints of coffee
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a thick, frothy, light brown head and medium-plus lace
Flavor: The taste is fairly sweet and malty, with less roast then the nose, and a sweet, earthy finish
Palate: The body is medium, with an average carbonation, slightly chalky feel, and finishes sticky/dry
Overall Impression: This one is alright, but not good enough to be a favorite for me. Overall though, I found it to be plenty solid and enjoyable. I would certainly drink it again.

12oz bottle from Pickโs poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger of tan head. Aroma of light coffee and chocolate. Taste is light bitter. Mostly coffee with a little chocolate and some caramel. Medium bodied with a surprisingly thin texture. Lively carbonation and a decently long finish. Overall, not too bad. There are better stouts out there but this one is darn good for the price.

Purchased at Schlafly Taproom in St Louis, MO; enjoyed on a hot Sunday afternoon, the last one of my 20โs (b-day is tomorrow). Appearance is a beautiful pitch black with a creamy tan/chocolatey head. Aroma is fantastic, nice roasted chocolate malts, coffee, lactose, slight nutty, a bit of caramel too, sweet but balanced. Taste is also just like the aroma - fantastic. Very smooth, not too much carbonation, equal caramel and chocolate notes rounded out by the creaminess of lactose and maybe a touch of vanilla. The oats actually do come out in the mix on this one and theyโre more apparent than any other OS Iโve had. Did I mention it was smooth? Because after a minute itโs half gone and that bums me out. Fantastic fantastic stuff, will definitely enjoy again!
