Canned in February, but you gotta buy a black IPA when you see it. 473mL can, pours jet black with a medium tan head. Nose brings out lots of faded earthy hops, roasted malt, some bready notes, and a touch of coffee grounds. Flavour is surprisingly still reasonably potent on the hops, with plenty of earthy hops, medium roast, a touch of dusty coffee grounds, and dry bready malt. For a 7-month-old black IPA, this still holds up; good hop expression and balanced well with a sturdy roast base. Very good.

Dark brown. No head. Minty aroma, nice chocolate mint character. On the palate, the malt is sweet, not so bad, and the hop is again fairly minty. Good balance, hearty bitterness. Damn - this is good now, imagine when it's fresh.

473mL can [canned on Feb 9]. Pours black with a large tan head. Pine, resins, and some gentle roast on the nose; almost a bit soapy. Flavour has bitter pine, resins, decent roast, a bit dusty; nice level of bitterness. Some of the age is coming through. Pretty solid, I would have liked to have tried this fresh.
