Pours clear golden, white head. Aroma is grainy, hoppy with spices. Taste, light chamomille aftertaste, very sweet beer. Robust spicy notes, sweet sugar. Overall good presence of grains, smoothness of the mix of spices and herb (chamomille).

Pale, hazy yellow pour. Short, but frothy white head. Aroma has notes of coriander, lemon, grain, metal. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly acidic behind a slight bitterness. The finish leaves a sweet, lightly flowery flavor. Light body with a watery texture and lively carbonation. Great Lakes produces some outstanding beers, but this is run of the mill.

This Whitbier poured a cloudy yellow colour with not to much of a foamy head ever after a vigorous pour. Scents of pineapple, yeasty dough, spice and maybe a slight hint of...vineger??? First taste was bold with flavours of spice, apples and some ripe fruit and hop. The finish was slightly bitter with spices lingering. Palate was the same with those libngering hops.

Shared with Kinz for an impromptu tasting. Slightly hazy golden orange body with a small off-white head. Huge coriander spice aroma. Sweet coriander, light wheat, light lemon peel and a touch of banana flavor.

Bottle courtesy of Jdoolin: Poured a whitish/yellow color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coriander and wheat is dominant and refreshing. Taste consists of a good malt presence with a nice dose of wheat, coriander and some orange peel. Refreshing with a full body for the style. Well done and stays within the style.

12 oz bottle. Thanks crizay. Hazy yellow color with thin white head. Crisp pale malt aroma with a hint of citrus and faint banana. The flavor is somewhat similar to the aroma with tasty pale malts mixed with sweet citrus hop flavor. Also floating around about midway is honey and a bit of sweet grapefruit. Enjoyable brew.

Bottle. Lightly musty and fruity (peach and ripe banana) aroma - very nice. Lightly cloudy orange-yellow with small head. Flat taste up front - stale wheat and bananas with a moderately acidic metallic finish. The aroma showed so much promise but the flavor was a letdown especially with the metallic taste.

Cloudy with bits of yeast or something in there. Citrisy and ever so slightly sour, a new taste in beers for me. I did sense a little bitter aftertaste on the finish. This one is better than ness, dortmunder and burning river but is not as good as the fitz. I really don’t appreciate the reference to Moses on the label.

Draught pint at the brewpub on 4/8/06 with SuIIy
Extremely bright, deep golden-hay yellow, very heavy cloudiness. Lots of pils malt, and wheat. Head is medium to large and snow white, with moderate retention and fair lacing.
The nose gives off a dry lemon scent that is quickly followed up by softer wheat and honey notes. Spicy coriander strikes back, with light bitterness almost, and a light soapy character is noted on the end. Light and fluffy nose is fairly complex, but a little heavy on the coriander, leading to a bit too much dryness and overshadowing of the malt. But it’s only a marginal problem, as the beer is well-malted. As it warms, citrus zest gives an invigorating tartness that plays well wtih the honey. Fresh yeast doughiness is notable as well.
The flavor is quite spicy as well, with tons of dry coriander, nipping at the palate. Medium-large bubbles explode all over the mouth releasing honey-sweet malts, soft wheat notes and giving way to flowery, herbal notes of lemongrass and coriander. Strong, supportive mouthfeel shows a good deal of residual sweetness, but not too much. Bananas are very tame, and though the coriander is a bit too zippy, leading to too much dominance on the end, the beer is still refreshing.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a large white head. Aroma was of grass and citrus with some spices and yeast. Flavor is of spices and citrus with some orange bits as well. Pretty decent though mainly because its real easy to drink.
