In this northern German style retro altbier, we’ve dialled down the dry-hops to zero, but cranked up the malt to create massive aromas. Toasty, toffee and floral notes duke it out for supremacy in the headspace of your glass.
When this alt hits your palate, the steely bitterness combines with the rich dry malt and the subtle alcohol warmth in a full throttle attack on your taste buds.

Draught @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Pours Amber with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, caramel, grass, sweet fruity hops. Flavor is light sweet, malt, caramel, wood, grassy, fruity hops. Medium body, average carbonation, light dry and bitter finish. 280116

Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus, 5.2%. Clear dark amber/brown with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, hop, grass and bread. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, bread, grass, medium sweet, hop and medium bitter.

Tap at Beer Hunters. Clear copper color, small white head. Malts, caramel, even a bit perfumic. Light-bodied to medium-bodied. Malty, caramelly, aromatic. Quite close to German altbiers. Not like many American craft altbiers.

Medium,dense, light-cream coloured head, rather stable over light-chestnut coloured beer. Caramel, molasses, toffee. Bit of rainwater, leafy. Dry (and lots of) malts, even some bitterness; very mild roast, again leafy. Finish shows again the rainwater streak. Light body, feels better carbonated than it looks, not the slightest bit cloying. Quite nice. The nose surprises, but the taste really claims Alt.
