The Holy Moose has brought about a gathering of Nordic clans; with it comes a berry IPA overflowing with tart citrus flavour.

Cloudberry, lingonberry, blueberry and sea buckthorn meld with citrusy hops in an intensely sweet, fruity and floral aroma, with toasty malt notes and tropical fruit bursts.

This bitter, resinous IPA follows up with a lemony punch in the mouth - cherry and blueberry sourness takes this pithy pale ale in a new direction, before a long, dry finish.

Hops: Amarillo, Chinook, Mosaic

Bottle @ home. Moderately hazy nice red color, average sized off-white head that diminishes quite quickly. Aroma has some berries, red fruit. Somehow in a very pleasant way. Taste lightly malts, slight tart in the background, red fruit, berries, slightly hops, nice fruit bitter finish. Decent body and carbonation. Very refreshing. Not so much an IPA, but very refreshing indeed. Well done.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a small beige head. NZ-hops in the aroma with diesel, plastic bag, red currants, basement and peaches. Fruity flavor with sweet apricot, candy, cloudberries and rowanberries. Has a slick mouth, medium body and a light bitterness. Interesting flavor and okay aroma on this. The berries shines through.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy orangey red with tiny impurities and a small, off-white head. Distinct but indefinable berry aroma blending in with diacetyl and some aroma hops. Medium body, very sour berry notes, chalky with an underlying hop bitterness. A designer beer that went terribly wrong. Very hard to drink. Should be listed as a Fruit Beer. 120116

Bottle that Jim shared (cheers!) - originally from Beers of Europe. Red beer with a pale pink head. Berries up front then a big citrus kick. Makes me think of cranberry and pink grapefruit juice mixed together. Yes, it’s alcoholic breakfast juice. I don’t really want beer with breakfast, but if I was forced to have one then forget all the espresso stouts out there, this is the beer I’d choose to have with my fry up. Great balance between the fruit and hops. I like it. A lot.
