Hearty and full-bodied this is a "Big" bier. Brewed in the Reinheitsgebot tradition, our Bock comes by its mahogany hue naturally. You can expect this bier to be complex and smooth with deep chocolate and coffee undertones, complementing the rich bouquet. No matter if you choose to enjoy our bock before, during or after dinner, remember to serve at about 48°F. Because like many good things in life...the warmer the bock is, the sweeter it gets.

Fully dark brown with good yellow-brown head, creamy and leaving textbook rings of lace. Molasses, dark breadsugar aroma’s. Bit of coffee and roasted nuts as well. Very coffeeish taste (more stout than Bock), dry, laurel. Lots of dark malts. Longlasting taste, in the end a bit chocolate/mint-like. Bit burning, even adstringent MF, well bodied, creamy texture. Blind I’d ventured stout. It misses the bready flavours of a German Bock to round it off.

A top notch bock. Regular bock aroma, but better than many others. Light red. Head dissipates quickly. Unusually complex flavor. Malt dominates, but there is also carmel and wine. Sweet. Good body. Thin enough that it is easy to drink.

This beer is a dark brown color with splashes of crimson. Thin dark beige head and a thin wall of lacing. The aroma is roasty and malty along with some caramel. Medium-bodied and smooth with a pleasant blend of flavors such as roasted malt, nuts, caramel and dark cherry. The finish is long and sweet with chocolate and a slight hoppiness. Enjoyable Bock from New Glarus.

This was a pretty standard bock, dominated by toasted malts, tannins, red grape skin, and hints of prune and raisin. Differs from some bocks in its nicely carbonated, non-syrupy, rather light body. Not all that complex, however; as the woody toasted malts dominated when the beer was cold and also after it warmed up. Thanks Matt (MrFacto) for the bottle.

Bottle Pours a hazy dark redish brown. Small but persistant sandy colored fizzy head. Nice heavy lacing. Aroma is quite chocolate malt like and a slight alchohol bite. Flavors are sweet dark roasted malt, cinnamon, not much hops and chocolate again. Nice smooth feel but very heavy. Nice and easy to put away even at 7%+ Thanks to MrFacto for this one

Uff-da indeed! This is a surprisingly good beer despite the unassuming label and name only the priveledged can understand. Malty rich, beautiful color, a very nice bock! Think I'll have another if it comes my way again. Recomended.

Bottled. Whew! This is the first ”big” bock that was worthy of the name. There's a slightly hazy beer-bottle-brown body under a transient ochre head. Funny, I can't taste anything that says “coffee,” but instead a fruity alelike nose and tastes of raisins, rum and maple syrup. Also a warming alcohol presence and a slighty winey finish. Maybe the difference is that my bottle had been cellared a few years, but this tastes more like a microbrewed porter or a young barleywine. So try holding on to this for a while, and see if it doesn't do the same for you!

Sparkling brown, lasting beige head. Good malt nose. Full bodied malt profile with no noticeable alcohol. Rather bland

Well, this is a rather anticlimactic number 300 for me, but what the hell, I've been having a good beer night up until now. Nice copper color, but zero head - bland aroma, slight cloves - flavor has a slight caramel touch with a tiny clove bitterness - I don't sense anything the commercial description suggests at all - if you want an accurate description of this beer, just think of it as everything the company's description is not.
