Amber gold (not medium/dark brown as anticipated) with a frothy white head and a berry fruit aroma. Fresh and fruity, hedgerows, fruit malt, a little bang of alcohol, hop bitterness and a dry fruity finish.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours golden amber with a small scummy off-white head and some lacing. The aroma is mainly traditional hops with a trace of nuts. In the mouth it is quite bitter with a creamy texture. Traditional hops to the fore in the flavour plus malts, grains and hints of autumn fruits. Although not present initially ginger come through quite strongly later on. Finish is rather fruity. This is decent – though I would have preferred a few more hops !

Third of a pint, hand pulled in the Tap and Can, Shrewsbury on 1st September 2026. Mahogany body, off white crown. Bitter and decent, a good ESB all round.
