This is the beer they would have poured here. Named for the mill that still stands at the heart of Amity, 1912 is a stout brewed from a recipe of its era before craft, before convenience, before anything but craft meant something different. Rich, roasty and dry with a long, bitter finish. Some things don't need improving

Can. Pretty much an opaque dark brown beer with a good and fairly persistent bubbly tan head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. The dark malts are somewhat light bodied but deliver a decent dark chocolate, some mild roast, thin dark malt cream. Whisper of ash.Touch of ripe fruits on the crisp and semi dry finish. Seems a tad crisp for a 1912 brew but the rest of it tastes genuinely old school. 114 years ago, people didn't have access to the worldwide smorgasbord of flavours we do today, so I reckon the chocolate flavours in this brew would have made this brew something more back in the day. A fascinating look backwards and quite satisfying.
