Like dark honey, this full bodied ale feels lush from the various specialty malts which we used in the grist. Most notably, this beer contains local malted rye from Amber Fields Malts. The hop varieties we feature in this beer present themselves with an obvious bitterness early in the taste, which lingers through the finish in perfect tension against the lingering malt flavor. The strong, rich and complex aromatics from the hops are the most noticeable attribute in the nose of this beer: herby, mild citrus, floral, subtle pine/cedar.

Draft at the source. Hazy amber color, medium off white head, decent lacing. Aroma is like snorting rye bread. Taste captures all the elements of a freshly baked loaf of rye bread, not just the spiciness of the grain but also the toastiness of the crust and the yeasty character of the dough. One of the best rye beers I’ve had.
