The Pull Chain Pale Ale is a fusion of English and American pale ale styles, with bitterness derived for an unusual and innovative hop schedule in the recipe. American cascade hops and British East Kent Goldings account for Pull Chain’s citrus and earthy flavors and aromas. They’re softened by malty undertones.

Bottle with many thanks to Drake! Pours golden with a small khaki head. Aroma is apple, light citrus (orange), resin. Flavor is interesting: resin, soap, green leaves, lemon rind, a little earth, black tea. I get the fusion between the styles. Enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle from Sendiks Marquette. Hazy amber, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of dank, resin, grain. The taste is toasted grainy malt, bitter leafy, limey hops, a bit of resin. Medium bodied, well balanced. A little different. Nice.

Draft at the brewpub. From notes. Citrus and floral hops with a grainy finish. Meh, drinkable but not too special.

On tap at the Milwaukee Brewing Co with ground hops on top. Poured a hazy gold with a tan head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice pine note with backing grass and grain. Flavor has a good amount of grass notes with a hint of pine and a grain backbone.

Bottle courtesy of nuplastikk, thanks! Hazy bright golden color, large fluffy white head, good lacing. Aroma of hay and white pepper. Taste is straightforward bitter, but not too bitter, with a dry finish. Decent stuff.

As part of a sampler at the Milwaukee Ale House in Grafton, WI. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, nice subtle pale ale that wasn’t overtly hoppy, clean finish, not too bitter. Would definitely try again.

Amber color. Well balanced with hops and malt. Some sweetness from the malt. The hops that are there do taste good, but there are not enough of them. This is however, a well balanced beer, good for a session.
