Bottle. Pours opaque black, large creamy tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is coffee (perhaps a bit stale), roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla, traces of oak. Flavor is light sweet and light bitter. Medium body. This has a well developed flavor despite very little influence of the time spent in barrel. Solid.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown cask: Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is a wee bit of bourbon, chocolate, and a bunch of coffee. Taste is slightly sweet, with some bitterness. The aging is barely noticeable to the point that I didn’t even seek it out until I read it should have been there. It ain’t nothing against the beer though. Pretty good.

Growler filled yesterday at Whole Foods Market Fairfax/Fair Lakes. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin fizzy brown head that fades quickly. Aroma of chocolate, bourbon and faint wood notes. The taste is whisky, vanilla, roasted malts, chocolate, bitter hops. Thin bodied. Decent beer.

From tap at brewery and growler. Poured near-black, with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild vanilla, bourbon, oaked notes. Flavor is light roasted malts, vanilla, bourbon. Pretty enjoyable. Let this one warm up if it’s super cold - gets so much better as time passes.

Draft at Churchkey. Very dark brown color, brown large bubble edge head. Aroma of caffe coretto. Taste is very porter-like, with plums, dates, and a subtle edge of whiskey. Decent stuff.
