This straw-colored ale tempts with a robust aroma of tropical fruits, floral hops, and doughy malt. Flavors of bubblegum, herbs and spice, and a slight tartness make this devilish beer dangerously drinkable. A dose of black, white, and green peppercorns create a spicy finish that builds as you continue to sip.

Bottle @ Ratman’s. Pours a fairly clear, dark orange appearance with little head. Somewhat spicy, light citrusy, somewhat herbal nose. A bit thin, strong, spicy yeasty, a bit boozy, strong malty flavor. Bleh.

Draft at the source. Hazy golden color, small white head, good lacing. Aroma of pure caramel, taste is similar, with subtle lemon. I would not guess that this is a saison, too sweet and strong, not enough funk. Still a tasty beer though.

Floral and lightly bitter hop aroma with medium fruity sweetness and a bit o’ funk but not much. Easy for a saison. Fruits, sweet, almost candylike sweetness but not overpowering, real faint, floral, light hop presence. Some yeast to really finish it out. A bit sweeter than I’m used to in a saison but real nice, I thought.
