Dark with a small head. Aroma has light roasted malt, some molasses, plenty of citrus hops. Medium bodies. Flavor is packed full of American hops. Background roasted malts. Good brew but would have liked a more powerful malt profile instead of the hops.

Pours black into an English pint. Mocha head with medium retention recedes leaving spot lacing to coat surface. Thin with resin and chocolate aromas. Sweet hot chocolate upfront turning to resin before the lasting charred resin finish.

12oz pour at Churchkey is a watery, opaque black with a creamy, beige head. Nose is a little weird, dried hop leaves, wet brown paper bag, oregano. Flavor is like cheap tomato sauce, oregano, cardboard, light toast, focaccia. Medium bodied, gross, papery, vegetal finish.

Can shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, herbal hops and tea notes. The taste is herbal hops, roasted malts and buttery notes. Medium bodied.

Whole Foods, DC P st, 4-pack cans ($10): Pours almost totally black, with a light brown head. Aroma has toffee, hops, sugar, roasted malts, and a weird permutation of chocolate. Taste is milky, chocolatey, and a bit sweet at the front and then it goes in for the hoppy bitterness towards the back (never really a dark chocolate kind of bitterness in my opinion). Some smoky notes in there as well. Body is pretty light for a stout, but this make it very sessionable. As someone else had noted, this certainly does have resonances of a Black IPA. Good stuff; full of flavor.

A murly dark brown stout with a thin light moka. In aroma, a nutty grassy malt with light fusel alcohol, roasted coffee beans, roasted coffee beans. OK. In mouth, a smooth nutty coffee malts, with some nice c-hops, pretty nice. Cask at Get Real NY, March 19 2011.

Hand bottle obtained in trade from Shane aka sixpoint, thanks for the opportunity. Poured a dark brown with faint ruby highlights and a huge fluffy/creamy off white head that stuck itself to everything on the way down the glass. Smells of cocoa, brown sugar, and a bit of caramel. Taste is chocolaty roasty with burnt and brown sugars in the mix. Finishes kind of dry with a touch of alcohol and bitter roast that lingers. Body is a bit on the thin side, Mouthfeel is bubbly, slightly oily, carbonation is on the high side. Decent brew overall, I would definitely session this one. I really would have liked a bit more body, but its great as is.

Tap at Barcade. An above average stout. Pours a charming black with a thick, voluminous tan head. Aroma of well roasted malts and coffee. Flavor packs more of the same. Burnt malts and some smokiness. Hops are detectable in the tail. Full bodied and creamy, this beer is a smooth drink.
