A full bodied, dark golden ale with a thick, off-white head, enticing citrus aroma and unique swirl of tropical fruit esters produced in fermentation. Backed by a precise balance of strong malt presence and biting hop bitterness, this creamy blend of rich flavors leads to a smooth, hoppy finish, and the torment of knowing that when this bottle is empty, you will long to…

Loads of ripe sweet fruit. Quite sweet, viscous mouthfeel, and oily. Big bready malts, sweet, yeasty, bready sweetness. Pine hoppy finish, medium bitterness, quite boozy. Rough around the edges, would benefit from some age.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a large fluffy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy sugar and tropical fruit. The flavor was sweet, tangy yet bitte with honey, tropical fruits and perfume. Long bitter tropical fruit and perfume finish. Fairly boozy. Moderately full bodied. Tasty.

Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with a small foamy head with average retention and light lacing. Aroma of light residual sugar notes with some caramelized malt notes. Taste is also dominated by dry caramelized malt with some light grainy notes and a dry finish. Body is slighter thinner then average with average carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I thought this was not as warm as most wheat wine I’ve taste before and probably a tad more dry then I was expecting.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy off white head. The aroma is a strong oak and vanilla malt. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruit malt and light spicy hop with nice lingering bitter finish. A good barley wine from DuClaw.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of nimbleprop. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Sweet caramel aroma, oxidized subtle hops. Rich body, very sweet, sugary hops, again rather oxidized but it doesn’t mater too much. Heavy on the booze. Could perhaps use a little more hops. 221112

22oz bomber via trade with ksurkin over a year ago. Thanks Ken. It pours deep gold with copper core and dirty white head of foam. The aroma is sugary sweet with faint muted spicy to pine hops and a touch of light skinned fruity esters. The taste is smooth with malts and silky smooth wheat notes backed up by muted smooth pine hops and a sense of spicy hops. This is nice and smooth and almost candy sweet at times but not too sweet and lacks any of the estery banana like notes associated with some wheat beers. This one has aged wonderfully and shows no sign of going down hill.
