This single-plot "Clos Landais" cuvée is crafted from a blend of two apple varieties—one bitter and one bittersweet—typical of the Cotentin terroir: two-thirds Petit Amer (bitter) and one-third Binet Rouge (bittersweet). The 0.7-hectare Clos Landais plot is situated at the top of a slope on a small plateau bordered by natural hedgerows. Planted in 1982, the orchard has always been managed organically.

This single-plot cuvée stands out for its colour—ranging from golden to orange-yellow—and its fine effervescence. On the palate, it reveals a perfect balance between bitterness, sweetness, and acidity, alongside a pronounced tannic structure. The nose offers subtle, slightly smoky aromas of fresh apple with hints of sea spray. On the palate, there is a lovely, fresh bitterness complemented by the residual sugars. A true expression of its terroir with excellent aging potential.

75cl bottle from the producer. Pours a generally clear gold, fine carbonation. Vague Autumn orchard nose. Initial impression suggests an empty, light palate with only subtle tannin, a little disappointing given the tannin rich apples used, delicate apple skin air, not much fruitiness or sweetness to speak of.. lacking in many aspects.. not Herouts finest work.
