Note: only batches 1-4 were in the white wine barrels, all others need to be rated under the red wine barrel entry. We took our double gold medal winning Brainless Belgian, added cherry puree and aged it in French Chardonnay casks for a secondary fermentation in the barrels. Pours a beautiful deep ruby color with a medium white head. A nice nose of sweet cherries, Belgian malts, and barrel aging.

Sampler 4oz draft from Rustico Ballston. Poured a cherry red color with a off-white pink head. Aroma was sour cherries, almost preserve like in character. Flavor was sweet/sour cherries. This one is very tart, and very tasty. Couldn’t imagine myself having more than 10oz so expect to share the bottle.

Bottle thanks to Douglas. Pours a clear pinkish red with a white head that had a pink hue and dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of cherries with a slight note of earthy of grains and a bit of oak as well. Flavor has much more earthy notes with grain and bread backed by a light cherry note and a good amount of oak. Solid.

Release #1 bomber courtesy of douglas88. Pours murky purple / red / copper with white to pink hued head. The aroma is dusty and somewhat tart with yeastiness and a sense of cherries. The taste begins sweet with estery notes like apricot, pear and apple and then followed by some cherry. To midway the cherries and yeasty spiciness take this into the finish. Not sure I dug this one.

Bottle at Brewforia Beer Market in Meridian, ID Ruby red color and nary a head but for a thin line of bobbles around the edge. Nice Cherry aroma, slightly of cough syrup, and a soft woody note as well. Flavor was a nice balance of the moderate Belgian yeast character and an up front byt not over powering cherry flavor. A little alcohol note added to the slight cough syrup flavor, but nicely done. Mild and not obnoxious, but not particularly bold and daring. Tasty.
