Note: only batches 1-4 were in the white wine barrels, all others need to be rated under the red wine barrel entry. We took our double gold medal winning Brainless Belgian, added cherry puree and aged it in French Chardonnay casks for a secondary fermentation in the barrels. Pours a beautiful deep ruby color with a medium white head. A nice nose of sweet cherries, Belgian malts, and barrel aging.

Bottle. Pours a hazy ruby with small pinkish head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is cherry skin and wood. Thin mouth, light tart cherry, vinous, lingering dryness, good.

Rating #3900 Solid pink coloured body with a very bright ruby tint and a super fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of alcohol, wine, must, basement, yeast, raspberries and cherries for sure. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a lot of alcohol flavours at first, pungent wine tastes, oak, bourbon, hay, grass and a belgian-yeast strain. Aftertaste is strong with alcohol coming through the most, some cherry and fruit notes and a bit of earth on the finish - relatively complex. Overall, a strong and pungent beer, but it doesn’t quite work too well. I was expecting an aged sour beer, but this one turned out to be a high-alcohol and gravity fruit beer. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 09-October-2011 for US$10.99 sampled at home in Washington after aging for ~1.5 years on 09-April-2013. Release #4; 10.3% Alc/Vol

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of nimbleprop. Pours a cloudy pale red with a small and very quickly dissipating head. Dry berry aroma, yeasty and lightly tart, lovely woodiness. Medium body, heavy carbonation, a light underlying woodiness with a sulphurous touch. Some warming alcohol. Nice one with a great barrel character. 131112
