2014 World Beer Cup® Gold Award Winner, American-Style IPA. Hops in your face. Crisp, mouthwatering, American citrus hops dominate for an ideal IPA character. It’s hopped before, during and after the boil with late boil additions of Citra and Amarillo for a complex flavor profile. The rich golden color comes from a blend of English and American base malts accented with substantial amounts of Vienna and Wheat malt. This is the beer that started it all for NoDa Brewing.

This brew pours a hazy orange-gold color with a medium creamy white head that diminishes gradually. Sticky rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is lemony with grassy hop and malt notes. Medium-bodied with flavors of zesty citrus, piney hops and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering citrusy hops aftertaste. Solid IPA all around.

Can with thanks to CarolinaKevin! Pours crystal clear orange with a medium beige creamy head that lasts a long time and laces well. Aroma is heavenly Citra, passionfruit, mango, a bit buttery, some dankness. Flavor follows, light plus sweet and light bitter, really well balanced and not harsh at all, juicy juicy juicy and a bit of sweaty dankness to tie it together. Medium oily body. This is one of the best single IPA’s on the market today, for sure.

Refrigerated 16 oz. can, canned on July 28, 2014, poured into a snifter. Pours clear light orange with thick medium beige head. Aroma is nice citrus hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and some thin small bubble lacing. Taste is some grapefruit, herbal hops, and strong bitter finish. The aroma is hard to beat, not easy drinking, and I prefer the taste of other IPAs.

16 oz can. Canning date of 06/02/2012. Hazy amber color with little head in the snifter. Aroma is grainy (like spent grain in a mash to)with Earthy, leafy hops. Hints of pine and caramel. Flavor is much the same with dirty, earthy bitterness that only lingers for a short while after the finish. After reading the Description on the can I was expecting much more brighter hop profile. Nothing that stands out. I would just like to add that I was drinking 3 day old Heady Topper yesterday so comparing it to that is not fair.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a bright orange color with a small off whitehead that left decent lacing. The aroma was pine, citrus, perfume and was a bit dank. The flavor was sour and bitter dank hops, pine and catbox. Logn sour pine and catbox finish. Ok.

Tall boy can shared by Vance at Ale Alpharetta. Pours dark orange, with a thin head. The aroma is orange peels, resin, some light toffee, and hay. Strong bitterness, with a good, light malt profile. Medium body, sticky, a little grainy, and effervescent. This is a well-made, flavorful, and approachable IPA. Nothing outstanding, but very solid.
