Drought at Geneva branch. I had hoped that at least this would be clear but it seems that here in Geneva no beer is ever filtered. So, it’s totallay hazy yellow with small white foamy head, doughy aroma (why is this no surprise to me?), slightly citrusy... At this point I had to call the waitress to make sure that she hadn’t brought blanche instead of blonde. Well you get the picture, nothing is ever filtered in this brewpub.

(Tap at Les Brasseurs) Hazy golden yellow with some white head. Indistinct aroma. Light body and medium carbonation. Flavour is thin and light. It’s sort of refreshing but there’s not a lot of flavour and what there is to start with dies away quickly. There’s hints of hop in the flavour, but no bitterness. Overall, it’s OK but uninteresting.

Draft at the brewpub. An unclear yellow beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, fruit esters from the yeast, as well as lighter notes of malt, straw, and barnyard. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt as well as lighter notes of fruit from the yeast, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. The malt blend is boring.

1l-glass bottle, freshly filed in the brewery. Clear golden colour, mid-sized white head. Floral-fruity hoppy nose, reminding me of French blonde beers and bières de garde. Light-bodied with a shy malty background and nice floral-bitter hops. Slightly bitter. The aroma promises more than the beer delivers, nevertheless it’s quite nice. Refreshing blonde summer beer.

Draught at the brewpub
Blond color. Light malt and hop aroma. The mouthfeel is dry and weak, light cereals flavor, light sweetness (sweetener-like), strong bitterness; possibly too long hop infusion. Simple.
Earlier Rating: 3/5/2008 Total Score: 1.7
Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy light blond color. It has a lemony aroma, with some hops. Horrible taste, completely immature, unbalanced, with total lack of body and too high, tannic bitterness (too long hop infusion or usage of hop extracts?). Undrinkable.
Earlier Rating: 8/15/2002 Total Score: 1.8
2004-03-21, 4-2-3-2-7=18
Cloudy blond color. Light hoppy aroma; unfortunately not maintained in the taste, with poor malt, light spices, not mature and even a bit sour.
2002-08-15, 4-2-2-2-9=19
Watery, some bitterness, wrong hopping (maybe too long infusion).
2002-01-26, 6-3-5-3-12=29
Blond ale, too much cloudy. Light hop aroma. Quite good taste, but it's a bit aggressive, metallic, young. Palate enough persistent, not really refined.
Earlier Rating: 8/11/2002 Total Score: 3.3
Cloudy blond colour. Pretty nice hop aroma, a bit fruity. not bad, light malt and robust hopping, but aggressive; not yet mature, as too often happens in the breweries of this chain.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Mild cornish and vague citrusy hops aroma. Dry malty and slight cornish flavoured. Mil citrusy bitterness showing through. Classic blonde, a bit on the boring side but flawless. Ends dry and bitter.
