White Ale’s are Belgian style beers, often referred to as “Wit” beer. Our version of this classic style is a wonderful spicy brew, infused with orange peel and coriander spices. It has a crisp refreshing flavor and a slight ‘white’ haze from the large percentage of wheat used in the mash. This beer was developed to celebrate John’s Grocery’s 50th anniversary and 3 generations of ownership. This beer has quickly become a favorite beer around here. (previously Johns Grocery Generations White Ale)

Bottle: Cloudy, pale yellow, with a solid white head. Banana, wheat aroma. Taste is sweet, wheat malt, banana, lemon/orange. A little yeasty bitterness, but pretty good. Not quite as sharp as I prefer, but a pretty tasty Wit.

Bottle. A- Cloves, coriander, pepper, spices, lemons, wheat, funk. A- Golden color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Tons of spices, coriander, cloves, wheat P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, spiced finish. O- I liked this beer and I didn’t like this beer. A bit of funk on the aroma and heavy on the spice. The palate was very spice forward as well. Other than being a little strong it was a pretty good wheat. Certainly not a favorite, but drinkable.

12 ounce bottle from pepsican. Thanks! 100th witbier rating! Pours a hazy orange color with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of citrus, pineapple, wheat. Some toastiness and very faint spice. The taste is toasted wheat, caramel, citrus, faint spice finish. Medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle at a tasting. Thanks Shachar. Hazy yellow with a huge frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, citrus and some spiciness. Flavor starts a bit sweetish but is dominated by spiciness - with some coriander, citrus, wheat and flowers - and by the middle turns dry and bitter. Medium-bodied. A nice enough Wit.

At a tasting, meduimstable head with big bubbles, hazy lemon yellow colour with orange taints, aromas of orange, apple, vanila and some spiciness, flavours of malt, and spice. Reminnds me of hoegaarden but a little to bitter and much to heavy.
