33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a deep orange glare with a small tan head. Aroma is toffee malty and chocolate. Caramelish nd dense chocolate. Smooth roasted malty. Bitter and toffee malty.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge brown head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, alcohol, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruites, caramel, alcohol, and wood, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a reddish brown with a dissipating beige head. Dark, dried fruit and a little roast in the nose. Medium body, heavy carbonation, quite roasty with a slight tartness, a vanilla touch too. Not that hoppy. A somewhat odd brew, closest to a - somewhat twisted - Stout. 301112

This beer is a cloudy brownish-black color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with flavors of bready malt, anise and black coffee. The finish is roasty coffee up front with a sweet malt and molasses aftertaste. Interesting story behind this one, and above average overall.

12 ounce bottle thanks to Craig. Pours a dark brown color with a medium brown head. The aroma is sweet cherries and oak. A flavor of light coffee, roast, cocoa, licorice. Even some smoke. Very odd, hard to put down what it exactly is. Quite mellow despite a 8% bill.

12oz bottle courtesy of markwise. It pours dark mahogany with tall almost rocky mocha like head of foam. The aroma offers up some dark fruity esters, tobacco-ee earthiness, black licorice, earthy molasses and some dark roasted coffee. The taste is prickly due to the elevated carbonation levels and delivers dark roasted coffee, molasses, earthy chocolate notes, black licorice and some burnt malts. It ends with lingering dark roasted malts, a bit of burnt malts and a coffee like sensation.

Samples from several bottles over the course of the GABF weekend. Pours with a black body with a small tan head. Aromas are spicy, rye, nutty, earthy and toasty. Reminds me a good amount of the Bruery’s Rugbrod from the nose. Light anise. Flavors are peppery, a bit spicy, dry and some brown sugar. Medium yeast notes. Moderate bubbles and finishes somewhat dry.

Snifter at CCB tasting room. Opaque brown black, thin beige head. Sweet brown sugar/chocolate aroma. Damn, this is a nice beer. Really is the missing link between Porter and Dubbel. Has the drinkable subtlety of both, with the big flavor of both as well. Semi roasty, some dark candi sugar notes as well. Roasty, chalky, with some dark raisiny fruit tones as well. Really nails it. Great beer, highly recommended.
