Funky Gold Amarillo is the second beer in our dry-hopped sour ale series. We took our sour golden ale, Gold, and gave it a heavy dosing of Amarillo hops. The result is a beer that is a mix of tropical fruit and Prairie funk. Notes of peach, orange, white wine, and citrusy brett can be found in the flavor and aroma.

Bottle from The Bier Cellar. Bright golden color with a huge bubbly white head. Earthy funky tart aromas with tropical and sweet fruits and a bit of spicy hop. The flavor is tart earthy funky with plenty of fruity hop to back it up. Interesting mashup, I quite enjoyed it.

16.9 oz bottle, thanks bytemesis! Aroma is funky, floral, lactic (so lactic it makes my taste buds start watering), dusty, latex. Pours cloudy pale yellow with a thick pillowy white head with excellent retention. Taste is sour (8/10 on a sour scale), floral, earthy, grassy--not quite as impressive as the aroma, but still delicious. Highly carbonated with a somewhat watery texture. Nice sour.

Refrigerated 0.5 L brown bottle poured into a tulip. Translucent golden with huge bright white head. Funky and dry aroma, medium body, well carbonated, and some lacing. Taste is yeasty, funky, grassy hops, some tart lemon, and dry finish. More like a saison, not really sour, but good.

Bottle shared during RBWG 2015 - Tampa. Pours cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Good nose, with notes of citrus, mango, melon. Tart and zesty, lightly acidic. Very clean. Light bodied with fine, spritzy carbonation. Clean and tangy on the finish with pleasant tart lemons and mild offsetting bitterness. Excellent.
