Golden Pilsener was launched in 1980 as Castle. It targeted at affluent males of 35 years and above. Who are aware of their social stature and are after a light, unique, great tasting lager. In the 90s the brand was reintroduced as Golden Pilsener.
To this day, Golden Pilsener still appeals to the affluent males and females and to buttress its premium status. It was upgraded to a full premium status by changing its packaging from a brown bottle to a green bottle in 2010 . This saw a label upgrade as well.

2/7/2022. Bottle shared at fonefan tasting. Courtesy of Marek. Pours clear pale golden with a small frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, wet grain, sweet malt, syrup. Sweet, with light metallic bitterness. Watery, low carbonation. Not very enjoyable.

Can - on the very first day of a safari. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of straw, malt, and cardboard. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, straw, and cardboard, leading to a dry finish.
