Draft at the Brewery. The rating prior to mine is from cheap. I do want to address that he may have gotten the wrong beer because this isn’t very similar to an impy stout. It is dark red, definitely not black but dark red. I do not get any burnt aspects. I do get a strong imperial red, as advertised. The hops are indeed woody but I would call them cedar-like hops. A little sweet fruitiness (cherry) and strong mineral character. Low bitterness, not a sweet malt (no caramel). Very tangy (not in the sour territory) but a tangy burst to the finish. Not particularly appealing to me

Dudes & dudettes, this is not a red ale, its an imperial stout, pretty funny, heheheeh. Big & black, large and incharge. Lots of stout in this, JMHO. Not sure how this is a red, heheheh. HAH, burnt wet volatile woody effects. Difficult, just like an on style alky impy stout. Big bitter almost black IPA finish. oooo, gittin dizzy after one big mug.

750ml bottle pours a translucent, deep brown with one ring of white head. Nose is malty, light earthy hops, crackers, caramel. Flavor is malty, light citrus, crackers. Medium bodied, lightly watery finish.

Deep brown-amber color. Huge foamy head. Sweet malty aroma with a solid bitter backbone. Somewhat mellow mouthfeel carbonation-wise, lots of thick malt flavor. Creamy and sweet, nice Imperial ESB.
