Bottle from Once Upon a Vine - South on 01/31/2009. Very clear copper amber body with a medium frothy tan head. Sweet floral hop and caramel fruit aroma. Sweet fruit flavor, some caramel, and a bit of floral hops in the background. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Tap at OTH. Pours copper with beige head. Aroma malty with light hops giving it a subtle fruity - orange, citrus nose. There also was a good nose of hops with light spices and as the beer warmed up it gained a light moldy/cheese like smell. Taste is hoppy and light roasted malty with notes of caramel. Thick and creamy mouthfeel. with a light bitter finish.

12oz bottle. Filtered amber brown color with a nice foamy head. Mildly spicy aroma, nutmeg or cinnamon perhaps. Malty, medium bodied with a sweet finish. The hops are there but never really shine because of the other flavors going on. A little unsubtle in spicing, but an OK beer nonetheless.

12 ounce bottle. Cannot recall from where, but it would be somewhere in Charlottesville or Richmond, VA. Pours a clear and dark ruby color with a tiny head and decent lacing. Nutty and hoppy aroma with some caramel notes. Very bitter taste with some odd but not off flavors going on. Caramel, grain and something that is almost like a savory green apple jolly rancher. Strong hop presence. Medium bodied. Interesting and quite nice.

On draught at Barley’s Smokehouse. This beer pours a mostly clear brownish-orange color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Thin rings of lacing. Malt and piney hops aroma. Medium body with flavors of dark malt, fruit and hops. Touches of pine in the flavor as well. The finish is malty with a mildly bitter hops aftertaste. Like many of Boulder’s beers, this is pretty straightforward.

12 oz bottle. Drank straight from the bottle, so I never got a good look at the beer. Probably looked good, but I’ll never know - at least until I crack into one and drink it from a bottle, but you know how that goes. Anyway, let me get back to the review. The flavor was relatively malty, with a crisp hop kick to it. Pretty decent beer - highly drinkable.

Pours clear, deep amberwith a tall, long lasting off-white head. Malty spicy aroma. Malt based flavor profile with some spicy dryness that comes in at the finish. Smooth but a bit thin. Not bad overall.

Pours a ruby brown with a beige head that leaves a thick lacing all about. Spicy caramel aroma. Taste is sweet with underlying fruitiness. A bunch of caramel in there, along with some spice to spice things up. Some hops in there as well.

Little detectable aroma. Light rootbeer color, somewhat like darker cream soda. Slow rising sparkling carbonation, very unique appearnce. Taste however, leaves carbonation to be desired. Coarse alky impact, much more than the 6% listed here. Overall, just a little too much personality for my taste buds.
