Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours black with a medium creamy tan head that recedes slowly to a dense film. Rings of lacing. Roasty aroma of malt and coffee. Light to medium body with a roasted malt character and notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is dry with a short malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

From tap at the OB location. Pours hazy dark brown to lack with a small tan and creamy head. Aroma is roasted dark malty. Light fruity note. Mild tarish, dense malty yet not overly roasted. Smooth malty finish.

Tap @ Pizza Port, Ocean Beach. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are caramel, nuts, toasted malt and hops. Easy drinkable and slightly watery.

Draft. Black, with creamy eggshell white head. Nice smoked chocolate aroma. Thin bodied, but decent. Could be drier.

Nitro tap at PP/SC. Pours with a black body with a nitro tan head. Aroma of chocolate, bread, caramel and roast. Flavors are a touch lactic, roasty, dry, coffee grounds, with tobacco in the finish. Creamy nitro mouthfeel. A dry irish stout.
