An abundance of hops and malt are added to our IPA to create and preserve its distinctive flavors. Not only do we use generous portions of hops in the kettle, but we also dry hop this ale for one week after fermentation. The dry hopping process adds to this beer's floral and citrus aroma. This is truly a tasty adult beverage!

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a hazy golden-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Pine and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of cinnamon, pine and malt. The finish is sweetly spiced with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at the source. Slightly lighter, less bitter than the Blind Pig, but still a pretty decent IPA.

On tap at Toronado. Pours a nice light orange with a decent fluffy head and aromas of pine and resin. Flavor is sharp, with lots of that resiny hops presence throughout. Malt is a light biscuit and sweet orange presence that peeks out between the waves of the hoppiness.

I had this as part of the 16 beer sampler (enjoyed with my future wife..couldn’t do it all alone). This was the future wife’s favorite, tasted bitter and I considered it a good traditional IPA. Not bad stuff at all.

The IPA was a pleasant surprise to kickoff my visit to the Russian River brewery. It’s a flavorful IPA with a lot of citrus and pine hop notes. The beer pours a handsome light amber with a big white head. The smell is a bit weaker than I’d like but it’s well-balanced with pine and flowers hops pairing with clearer malt than some big IPA’s. The taste is more hops than malt. certainly in line with Russian River’s style. There’s more citrus than BP and Pliny, and it packs quite a punch even with those beers as my main point of comparison. The mouthfeel is fairly superb. It’s enjoyable but after a few of them I can imagine my mouth begging for mercy.

Another golden amber IPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, cleaner C-hops, more citrussy, less funk, quite classic. In mouth, a nice classy hoppy IPA, resinous and floral, quite good. On tap at brewpub, August 17 2009.

On tap. Clear golden with a dense off-white head. Citrusy, piney hop aroma. Medium body, fruity without much of a malt feel and a fairly dry and hoppy finish. 110709

On tap at the brew pub. Sort of a toned down cross between Pliny and Blind Pig. Orange amber color, transparent, lacing white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruits, lemon but also sneaky sweet. Flavor was nice and bitter, citrus fruits, pine, not super resinous, crackers and some caramel candy. Finish is medium bodied and bitter. Nice and sessionable as well but not as good as the other IPAs on the menu.
