Haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color and rich toasted malt flavor, this true German-style Oktoberfest lager is smooth in body and uses German hops in the brewing process to balance out the distinctive, toasted malt sweetness. The clean smoothness is created by the long conditioning (lagering) process of 8 weeks.

Just going through all the Oktoberfests I massed up over the past couple months before they go bad. This one is average among a category that strives for average. Pours brown with OK head and lacing. A little touch of mash sourness. Some barley. Aftertaste gets annoying after a few sips. Bottle.

On tap, I would have never known this was to be an october fest beer. Some of that typical ipa aroma in there. Pale yellow with a big foamy head. Flat no co2. Does have some fruity attributes to it. Does not seem to be over the top in alky content. Not as rude as many october fest beers but it does carry a bit of uneasiness to it. Yes, somebody could easily mistaken this stuff with a milder ipa, go figger.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet, tart and tangy with mixed ripe fruits, yeast and caramel. The flavor was sweet and yeasty with toasted caramel, nut, mixed fruit, wood, and tobacco. Long sweet finish of fruit, toasted caramel and wood. Medium body. Well done.
