A new version of an American classic. Our pale ale bursts with citrus and herbal hop aroma and flavor, featuring the newly discovered Amarillo hop variety – along with generous Perle and Cascade hops. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, this beer gives a great malty body with a cleansing hop finish.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This brew is a clear orange color that has a rosy hue. Thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. The aroma is hoppy with a touch of citrus. Medium-bodied with a flavor that is a case study in Amarillo hops, as that is more or less the only flavor aside from a bit of malt. The finish is clean and hoppy with a short hops and fruit aftertaste. Just average overall.

Draft. The hops in this APA are overshadowed by sweet malts. Copper/amber color with short, white head. The aroma is grainy with a hint of grass and lemon. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet. The finish is lightly bitter. Medium body and watery to sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Off-balance throughout.

Slightly hazy amber. Fruity hops nose (blackcurrant, plum, pear). Fresh hop taste is woody, lightly fruity. Bitterness is moderate. Malts are mostly pale, slightly toasty. The finish is dry, lingering long on the tongue with hop.

Bottle. Copper beer with a thin beige head. Caramel malt and slight citrus aroma. Citrus (grapefruit/tangerine) flavor with some malt backing. Good hop flavor with moderate bitterness. A bit of a metallic/tannic (stemmy) background flavor that kept appearing.

Bottle. Pours a large head initially that settles in and never leaves. It leaves sticky patterns all down the walls of the glass. Juicy fruit aroma. Smooth palate starts and finishes sweet. Hops remain in the back and could be a bit more to the front. Some bitterness falls in way at the end of the finish. A little sweet, but very drinkable.
