A rich, chocolatey English Porter with a clean finish. We use the finest floor-malted Maris Otter malts from England, the same malts used for the best single-malt scotch. A portion of malted rye gives a spicy, slightly dry finish.

Draft. Deep brown body with a tan head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel with a hint of rye bread. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, moderate carbonation. A sweet porter that is thin in the mouth as compared to richer porters like Founders. Still, tastes of malt and chocolate and coffee with a bit of rye twang.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color porter with a dark foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma consists of spicy rye notes with light roasted malt and some black chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by spicy rye notes with some dry roasted m alt notes with light black chocolate notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed with rye contributing some interesting complexity.

On draught at Broadway Brewhouse in Nashville. This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that dissipates steadily. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt and mildly spiced hops. Medium, dry body with flavors of bittersweet chocolate, malt and bready rye spices. The finish is chocolatey with a short malty aftertaste. Above average brew overall.
