12oz bottle from Wegman’s, King of Prussia, PA. Reddish copper with a rim of translucent head; malty aroma with some orange fruit; oily in the mouth, with a small dose of resinous hops, and lots of obvious alcohol; before a warming finish with a dry, toasty aftertaste.

Travilah Wine and Beer, Rockville sixer ($13): Pours a reddish brown color with a beige, creamy head. Aroma is way to the malty side of things. Hops are minimal. Maybe this is an old bottle. There is a little bitterness, but this mostly tastes like an English Strong Ale to me. Albeit, it doesn’t taste like a bad ESA to me, but this is hardly what I was expecting from a beer that had the word hop in the name. Again, not bad, but I don’t know what it is.

Slightly hazy dark orange body with an average sized off-white head. Fragrant pine and citrus hop aroma. The flavor is just a touch on the sweet side,. not overly bitter with hops, but they are there.
